REBELS V ROBINS IN TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH

Tuesday July 31, 2018
The goal for the 'Cases' Somerset Rebels on Wednesday night will be to bounce straight back after their Monday night defeat at King's Lynn in the quest to return to the top of the SGB Premiership table.

Having been deposed by the Swindon Robins, who beat Wolverhampton on Monday to overhaul the Rebels, there could be no better opposition to be in town and the presence of the Robins should serve as an extra incentive for the Somerset side, should any be needed.

But again, the Rebels will go into action without fielding world champion and Somerset number one, Jason Doyle, who is still recuperating from his British GP heat 20 horror crash. Team manager Garry May has called upon the services of Rory Schlein to cover, whilst May's counterpart Alun Rossiter was also left frantically looking for a guest after former Rebel Nick Morris withdrew having suffered yet another fall on Monday. Rosco has booked Rohan Tungate as a guest.

New averages come into effect for August and that means a move into the main body of the side for Nico Covatti with Bradley Wilson-Dean dropping back to the reserves to join Jake Allen, whilst for Swindon Troy Batchelor will begin his reign as their number one.

"We have had to reshuffle the side around because of the averages and I know that Bradley will be extremely determined to start piling on the points so that he won't finish the season as a reserve" said Mr May, "but I will be looking for plenty of effort throughout the team. I really enjoyed the feeling of being top of the league and I would love to get back there. To do so, we need to complete the home/away double over Swindon and I think it will be the case of them wanting to get at us after we raided at their place recently. "
"Any meeting involving the league's top two teams is always going to be one not to miss and Wednesday night is no different. Hopefully our fans, who we haven’t seen at home for a few weeks now will give us plenty of support and help us in our quest to get back on top."
