PLENTY OF POINTS FOR REBEL RIDERS

Sunday April 15, 2018
RICHARD LAWSON dropped just one point in his appearance for Lakeside on Friday night.

Defeated only by Rory Schlein when they met in heat 7 of the SGB Championship shield meeting between Lakeside (54) and Ipswich (35) it certainly wasn't an unlucky Friday 13th for Richard, although it did prove a raceless night for Jake Allen as his engagement in the Scunthorpe v Newcastle fixture was rained off and now needs to wait until this evening when Newcastle host Scunthorpe before he can take to track.

Bradley Wilson-Dean was another Rebel to endure a rain-off as his guest appearance at Edinburgh was denied because of the weather on Friday, but he did enjoy a solid paid 11 score for Workington on Saturday with one race win and two paid victories claimed at Derwent Park as Workington scraped home 46-43 over the Edinburgh Monarchs, not least due to a 7 point contribution from their other guest, Charlie Wright who covered for Ty Proctor.

In Poland on Saturday world champion Jason Doyle scored 7+2 as Torun beat Wroclaw.

The Rebels travel to Leicester on Monday night, where the East Midlands side will be operating rider replacement for Michael Palm-Toft and have booked Robert Lambert to guest for Martin Vaculik, both of whom were injured in the abandoned meeting at Swindon on Thursday.

Monday's teams:-
Leicester - Robert Lambert (guest), Rider replacement for Michael Palm Toft, Danny King (capt), Krysztian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Kyle Newman - Team manager Simon Stead
Somerset - Jason Doyle (capt), Jake Allen, Charles Wright, Jack Holder, Richard Lawson, Jonas Jeppesen, Bradley Wilson-Dean Team manager Garry May
