The 'Cases' Somerset Rebels will officially launch their 2017 season, which will see the club compete in the top tier of speedway in the UK for the first time in their history, with their Press & Practice Day which will be held on Friday 17th March.

“We will be announcing the finer details of the day in the near future," said club promoter Debbie Hancock, "but suffice to say that the rider introductions and interviews will take place in front of a specially invited audience during the afternoon, and the official practice session for the 2017 ‘Cases’ Somerset Rebels will commence in the early evening, with the night then being opened up as an open practice session from 7.30pm onwards, which will give our own riders a good hour or so track time for themselves before we open up the evening for the open session.”

“In addition, we are also holding an open practice session at the Oaktree Arena on Friday 10th March, with a 7.30pm start-time for any riders who wish to get some track time ahead of the new season.”

“I must stress, however, that places are limited for both of these open practice session, and places must be booked in advance by ringing the Oaktree on 01278 782216. Payment for each practice session, which is £40.00 for each of the two nights, must also be paid at the time of booking.”

“Fans are more than welcome to attend both of the open practice nights free of charge, but we would like any attending to make a donation to SREF (Somerset Riders’ Equipment Fund) in order to give their fund-raising activities a boost going into what promises to be a new exciting venture for the club.”
