'Cases' Somerset Rebel Jake Allen finished 2nd in yesterday's Queensland State Championship held at North Brisbane.

Jake was unbeaten from his 5 qualifying rides to head the score-chart and book his place directly in the 'A' Final, he producing a stunning last bend move to pip Davey Watt for the race win in heat 20, but with Watt making the better start in the Final, Jake was left to battle with Zaine Kennedy for 2nd place, the pair passing and re-passing each other before Jake finally got the upper hand to claim 2nd place.

Afterwards Jake said of the meeting;

"The meeting was just awesome, I went through all my qualifying heats unbeaten, and went into the Grand Final on a maximum, but Watty [Davey Watt] got the better start in the Final, and then got away from me over the first lap or so, as I was on the defensive to hold on to my second place from Zaine [Kennedy], but overall, I’ve got to be happy with the result, but hopefully I can go even better next year!”

"I would just like to wish all the Somerset fans a great Christmas and New Year, and I look forward to seeing everyone again when I return in 2017, I can’t wait to get back to Somerset to race each week on one of the best race-tracks in the country.”
